Stationery Essentials For Bloggers

If you follow me on Twitter, you know I am often tweeting about my love of all things stationery. Whether that is a pretty new notebook or my collection of washi tapes, stationery holds a special place in my heart. After getting a gorgeous new Heidi Swapp planner for Christmas (thank you Vicky!) and recently a couple of cute new notebooks (thank you me!), I thought it would be a good time to blog about the stationery I am currently using to keep my blogging life up-to-date and organised… well, attempting to anyway!

In this post: Heidi Swapp Gold Stripe Memory Planner / Little Moments Heidi Swapp StickersCat, Dinosaur, Unicorn Notebook by Anna Alekseeva / Bright Ideas Notebook by Rachel Ellen Designs / To Do List Doodle Pad by The Native State / Born To Blog Mug by Ruth In Revolt

This month I treated myself to two new pretty notebooks. Does anyone else find new stationery motivating? It makes me want to write, learn, brainstorm, doodle, take over the world, anything!

Notebook #1 is the awesome Cat, Dinosaur, Unicorn Notebook by Anna Alekseeva which I am using for blogging research. One of my 2019 ambitions is to learn Pinterest for blogging and not just look at cute cats and holidays to the Maldives. I am hoping the Cats, Dinosaurs and Unicorns will help me in my quest, I have even enrolled on a Pinterest Course, so wish me luck please!

Notebook #2 is the adorable Bright Ideas Notebook by Rachel Ellen Designs which I discovered in John Lewis and thought it was too cute to leave in the shop. This book is for all my future blog post ideas.

This month, I haven’t planned very far ahead on my blogging calendar but I find keeping a list of posts very helpful. I use the To Do List Doodle Pad by The Native State which is really cute, and as I blog twice a week I can fit a whole month on each page. When I have a blog post idea or collaboration, I jot it down in pencil so I know what’s coming up. I also make a note of it in my planner so I know when to write the post.

The lovely Ruth from Ruth In Revolt sent me this fantastic Born To Blog mug at Christmas which I adore and it has proved very handy for storing all my colouring pencils. It sits on my desk for whenever I get the urge to get all creative and you’ll see that everything in my planner is colour coded (planner nerd here).

And here is the star of the show, the stationery item I cannot live without, my planner. Every year, my sister buys me a new planner and this year it is the beautiful Heidi Swapp Gold Stripe Memory Planner complete with Little Moments Heidi Swapp Stickers and gold, pink and black washi tape (all the heart eyes!).

Every Sunday I decorate my pages with a few stickers and washi tape and I am ready for the week ahead.

My favourite sticker, pretty much describes my mood everyday, ha ha.

Here is a snapshot of my planner in all it’s colour coded glory. This was the first week of the year, so it was pretty quiet, normally I do a bit more than lunch, blog and swim (actually, or do I?) Netflix not included.

Enjoy the little things – like going to Hobbycraft <3

These are my current stationery essentials for blogging, although I am sure I’ll pick up some more throughout the year (I can never resist a pretty notebook or a few cute washi tapes!). I hope you enjoyed seeing how I keep my blogging life organised and colourful. What are your stationery must haves for blogging? Let me know in the comments – I’d love to hear from you!

I’ll be honest and say this is the first year I’ve got my hands on a planner. It’s helping to keep track of life and there are spaces where I can jot down blog ideas too, it’s the positivity planner by Emily Norris. I do think that writing things down helps to motivate us to actually do them!

Lovely post and your stationery is always so very pretty!

    • January 21, 2019 / 1:00 pm

I love the sound of the positivity planner! I agree, writing things in a pretty planner is really motivating! Thank you for your lovely comment and kind words Soffy <3 xx

I always adore your stationery delights Bexa and get serious FOMO and stationery swag envy! Another great thing about my decluttering mission is finding all my pretty notebooks and post it notes and other bits of stationery I thought were lost forever so I think in the next month or so I can get super organised and on it with the blog! Stationery really does help.

    • January 21, 2019 / 1:25 pm

Thank you so much for the lovely comment Rachael, I’m glad you enjoyed the post! Decluttering is such a great way to find missing stationery, pretty notebooks always make me feel motivated. Good luck with getting organised! <3 xx

  3. January 21, 2019 / 10:43 am

Thank you so much for including my mug, Bexa – I love the fact it’s a happy home for your colouring pencils. Everything else in this post looks amazing, too, especially the cat/dinosaur notebook. It’s absolutely adorable! I have no doubts it will help you with your Pinterest quest 😉 The planner is so pretty and the To Do list makes me happy to look at because it’s so bright. Even though I definitely don’t need anymore, this just makes me want to go out and buy more notebooks…

    • January 21, 2019 / 1:37 pm

You are very welcome lovely, it is such an awesome mug! Aww yes, the cat/dinosaur notebook is super cute, if Pinterest doesn’t work at least I have a nice notebook, he he! I’m glad you enjoyed the post Ruth, thanks for the kind comment! <3 xx

  4. January 21, 2019 / 11:01 am

Loving that planner! I was torn between a ringed binder and a regular journal for bujo’ing, eventually opting for a Perfectly Penned journal which I love (though I may end up getting a ring binder for business use.) Also wanting that unicorn notebook just because!

    • January 21, 2019 / 2:16 pm

Thanks so much for the lovely comment Misa! Well, you can never have too many planners and notebooks! I’m glad you enjoyed the post and yay for unicorns! <3 xx

  5. January 21, 2019 / 11:36 am

All these stationery items are so pretty, the planner has to be my favourite one! The notebooks are so cute as well. All my blogging essentials are digital. I use a spreadsheet, Word document and the Notes app on my phone. I used to have a notebook but I find writing my ideas on my phone is much easier and easily accessible. Love the pictures x

Thank you so much lovely! I’m glad you enjoyed the post 🙂 I’m pretty old fashioned and love writing things down. But spreadsheets sound so handy for blogging, I’ve never used anything like that but it sounds like a smart idea! <3 xx

  6. January 21, 2019 / 1:09 pm

Your handwriting is gorgeous! I was honestly struggling thinking that it was a font printed on the page, and how did Bexa yet a to-do list that was so date specific? 😂 It’s something like you found find when you search for pretty handwritten fonts! I love having loads of different notebooks for different things, like every day, uni work, blogging, etc. Such an addict 🙈 although I haven’t bought anything new in awhile and I’m proud of myself for that! Great post, and I love that mug of yours 💕

  7. January 21, 2019 / 5:06 pm

I have two soft cover notebooks for my actual posts and one hardcover notebook that I use as a planner/keep track of my progress in. I’ve felt so old-fashioned for the longest time, so it’s really cool to see other bloggers use pen and paper too 😀

I love stationary so much! I have so many notebooks and diary’s that I don’t even need but I had to have, all of these bits looks too cute especially the born to blog mug, I love that! I’ve always got to have a planner for my blog it helps me stay extra organised! Loved this xx

    • January 22, 2019 / 10:27 am

Thank you so much for the sweet comment Aaliyah! I’d be lost without my planner too, it really helps with organisation <3 xx

  9. January 21, 2019 / 5:07 pm

Some great items here lovely. Other than a simple notepad and my journal, I also use a whiteboard to make lists as it’s so satisfying rubbing them all when they’re all done. 🌸💜

    With love, Alisha Valerie x | http://www.alishavalerie.com

    • January 22, 2019 / 10:28 am

Thank you so much Alisha! I love the idea of using a whiteboard, that is a smart way to keep on top of things! <3 xx

  10. January 21, 2019 / 5:20 pm

I love the unicorn stationary and wish I could buy more planners but truth be told they’d be extras lying around that my kids would start doodling in. They already doodled in my SEO book but I look at it as a little reminder in why I keep going each day. Good luck with Pinterest and let me know how the course works out for you.

    • January 22, 2019 / 10:30 am

Thank you so much Alice! I defo need to add SEO to my list of things to research, thanks for the reminder! I’ll let you know how I get on with the Pinterest course, may even do a blog post if it all works out well (fingers crossed!) <3 xx

  11. January 21, 2019 / 5:26 pm

This is all so gorgeous! I’m a sucker for stationery too; I love the feeling of a brand new notebook. So much potential! And wow, I love that ‘Born to Blog’ mug from Ruth 🙂

  12. January 21, 2019 / 5:26 pm

Thanks for sharing these Bexa. I love that mug from Ruth! Shamefully I talked myself out of getting one becuase iI don’t need any more mugs, I never thought to use one as a penvil pot, lol. Doh! I have to get myself some of those adulting stickers. 😅

    • January 22, 2019 / 10:39 am

Thank you so much Kim! Ruth’s mug does make an awesome pencil pot, I thought it was too nice to risk getting stained with tea and coffee! He he, the adulting sticker makes me smile too 🙂 <3 xx

  13. January 21, 2019 / 5:27 pm

Oh my days…. serious stationery envy. I am obsessed with stationery. We are having the garage converted next week into an office and all my stationery apart from my planner is packed up, waiting for its new home. You have some fabulous items there lovely

    • January 22, 2019 / 10:40 am

Thank you so much Stacey! Ooh that’s exciting you are getting a new office – the perfect excuse to buy more stationery I think, he he 🙂 <3 xx

  14. January 21, 2019 / 5:38 pm

Cats! Unicorns! Dinosaurs! I’m not apologising for the !!! Love this, Bexa. Sadly I’m nowhere near as talented and creative as you are so my blog planner is just a one month to a page calendar with dates and tick boxes for photos, writing, social promotions etc. My private client work weekly planner is a little more colour coded but only just. I love seeing all your pretty stationery and scrapbooking posts, they are always so gorgeous, it does make me wish I had the knack of making my own planners more attractive but then I’d probably not want to write in them and mess them up, haha. Lovely photos, as always, thank you for sharing, and good luck with the Pinterest course! xx

He he, yay for cats, unicorns and dinosaurs!! 🙂 Aww, you are so lovely, I think because it is the first month of the year I’m trying extra hard to keep it all neat and colourful, will have to see how things are looking in a few months, he he 😛 I’m glad you enjoyed the post and thank you for the kind words <3 xx

  15. January 21, 2019 / 5:50 pm

These are some fabulous stationary essentials! I just love stationary, it’s so surprising how helpful it is when it comes to blogging. I always write down post ideas and schedule future posts too.

  16. January 21, 2019 / 6:22 pm

I want EVERYTHING in this post please! You really are the Queen of good stationery! I’d love that little to-do list pad. I write all my to-do lists on my phone but I would really like to start hand writing them so eventually I’d be spending less time looking at my phone, even if it’s only a couple of minutes. I love that mug too! Great post! <3

  17. January 21, 2019 / 6:30 pm

What a great post! I’m terrible for doing everything digitally, but I know I need to change it up and start writing things down as it’s nice to get away from the screen. Definitely need to check everything out here, especially those notebooks!xx

  18. January 21, 2019 / 6:39 pm

Wow beautiful things especially the planner! I absolutely love stationery especially notebooks and they are both inspirational and sanity saving (when there’s just too much swimming around and I need to brain dump). I adore your stationery and planner posts!
Good luck with your Pinterest course, please blog about it as I’m interested myself in fine tuning this (rather than just winging it).

    • January 22, 2019 / 10:58 am

Thank you so much for the lovely comment Gem! I agree, writing things down really helps me stay calm too. Thank you, I am planning to do a Pinterest post in a few months if things work out (fingers crossed, he he!) <3 xx

What fun resources! I’m super curious about Ruth’s Etsy shop…I need to contact her about that. I’m glad you linked to it!!

Good luck with Pinterest. My skills are meager and I can’t afford to pay for a course. I pin what I like, pin my posts in 3 places, and that’s about it. I would like to use it for affiliate links…but I’m not sure how.

Best of luck with that. I’m sure you’ll do well!

Thank you so much Nicole! Aww, you are welcome, Ruth’s Etsy is awesome, there are so many cute and motivation prints there too 🙂 Thank you for the kind words, I’ll be sure to share my knowledge if Pinterest works out for me in a few months <3 xx

  22. January 21, 2019 / 9:19 pm

One thing that I seriously love about blogging is that we all seem to obsess over this kind of thing. I know that might sound a little strange, but as a group of people we spend so much time looking at screens, it makes me really happy that we all seem to like notebooks and planners and..paper, I guess rather than electronic versions. I have a to-do list daily planner sheet thing but my memory can be so scattered that I actually use them daily for things like remember to take those photos or email that person. I also have two blog planners that I use for different things. I need to get myself some washi tape! x

  23. January 21, 2019 / 10:35 pm

You see, I’d leave you a coherent comment here butball that is really coming out is a whimper because oh my word I am so in love. If I had to pick a favourite, it would be the todo list planner but they are all so pretty. And you’re so organised – it’s making me feel seriously motivated. I even bought a blogging calendar at the beginning of the year – need to start using it. Fantastic post, as always.

Hi Bexa, As usual your blog posts leave me inspired! I wanted to share with you that I’m reading a book about how to have more Joy in your life, and the author focuses on the use of color and textures to keep our senses alert and vital. According to the science she is studying, having color and tactile experiences in our daily life can actually slow or even prevent aging. As I was reading about all the colorful shades in the palette of this “anti-aging” apartment she stayed in, I couldn’t help but be reminded of your blog and web-site! Thanks for another inspiring post!

Oh my gosh, I have stationery envy! The things I use almost daily are my blog planner, calendar, diary, list pad and I have too many notebooks… Is it even possible to have too many notebooks?! 😉 Your mug is awesome too!

    Take care,

Your notebooks are too cute! AND YOUR PHOTOS MAKE EVERYTHING SO MUCH CUTER! Lol. I love notebooks too! Sometimes I can keep buying notebooks and don’t quite get to using all of them. Hoarder? Maybe. ;P

I love your stash Bexa!! The mug by Ruth is really amazinng and I love looking at it! That planner is also really lovely and the stickers too!! I want to actually make my own stickers for my blogging planner. I love that there’s affirmation stickers in there as well. Hi Hun,

Beautiful shots x As a fellow stationary addict – (feel a glimpse into my dedicated stationery and Kawaii cupboard may be necessary soon to show the extent of this obsession) this post is virtual candy haha x

Heidi Swapp memory planners are amazing and I really love using the inserts in my A5 agenda’s like my Kikki K’s x with a little tweaking these work super well!!

Another beautiful post as usual hun

I myself am a stationery lover and addict but I must say I’m not as organized with my blogging as you. Or rather I probably don’t execute as much as you. Lol. You are officially goals right now.
