Create Your Own Inspirational Scrapbook

Do you ever feel like you want to create something but have absolutely no idea what? If the answer is yes, then same here. The other day, I was mindlessly flicking through my old magazines waiting for inspiration to jump out at me. And nothing was happening. I was turning the pages hopelessly, feeling indifferent and unenthusiastic. Then suddenly I thought, why not use the magazine itself as inspiration. So I took a pair of scissors, grabbed a scrapbook and started cutting.

It was so much fun as there were absolutely no rules. Just cut (it doesn’t even have to be neat) and stick your clippings wherever you want.

I found inspirational quotes, pictures of food, flowers, cushions, cups of tea, anything and everything went in.

After I had finished with the magazine, I added a Polaroid snap from my holiday in Greece as I thought it fitted in perfectly with the colours.

I wanted to keep the pages bright, positive and uplifting.

Marshmallows, yoga and cakes – just a few of my favourite things.

I added in a few of my cute little cat stickers to decorate the pages.

I used a mini inspirational card from treatbox to give the pages an added bit of positivity.

Ta-da! It’s like having a Pinterest board but without an internet connection. The best bit was that it was so relaxing,  I switched off for an hour or so and just focused on cutting, sticking and creating. All you need is a magazine or two, a pair of scissors and glue and the rest is up to you and your imagination. Have fun!

This scrapbook looks so good! I can’t wait to get started on mine (I don’t have a clue what I’m going to base it round yet mind) … I’m thinking of maybe doing one for room ideas for the new house – when that finally comes about – will give me some idea then on what I’d like it to look like and items of like in it! Haha 💖 Thanks for sharing 🌹

    • February 17, 2018 / 7:49 am

That’s a fab idea! 💕 You could do one for every room in the new house and keep adding to it when you find new inspiration! Sounds like fun! 😄 Thank you for the comment lovely 😘 xx

It’s a lovely idea, I wish I wasn’t so lazy, I tend to get cool creative ideas like that a lot but I never seem to follow through…I had bought a pocket calendar to write down my blogging ideas and it’s still blank. It’s kind of sad…

    • February 17, 2018 / 8:10 am

I know what you mean, it’s hard sometimes to find motivation to be creative. Scrapbooking is perfect as it doesn’t take much thought and you can create something pretty quick ☺️. Thanks so much for the comment Maria 😘 xx

I love scrapbooking! It’s so fun to do! I made a book when my first son was born. Then I had full intentions to make another book for my second baby and guess what? I still haven’t finished it! My youngest is now 5 but I think it’s never too late to scrapbook! You gave me inspiration to go back and finish what I had started! Lovely post!

I’ve always wanted to do this but with a mood board rather than a scrapbook! I’ve always been put off by my overall lack of creativity and a fear of slapping a load of things down then regretting my choices a few days later. Yours looks absolutely great! x

    • February 17, 2018 / 8:20 am

Aw thanks so much for your lovely comment Sophie! 💖 I worried about the same but it’s pretty easy to stick over stuff you are not happy with ☺️. Mood boards sound like a lot of fun to make too! 😘 xx
