A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Jenny at Fruiteatox offering to send me some detox tea in exchange for an honest review. Before I was like yeah free tea!, I read a little about the product on their website to make sure this wasn’t some faddy weight loss gimmick. However, I was pleased to find their tea is made of out 100% natural ingredients, to be drank as part of a balanced and healthy diet to help you lose weight, get rid of unwanted toxins, give you more energy, healthier skin and reduce bloating.
As I already try to eat healthy (most of the time) and go to the gym (some of the time), I wasn’t expecting any drastic weight loss changes. Having said that, I was interested to see how this tea would impact on my energy levels, so in true science student style, I set up my lab notebook ready to begin this investigation (decorated with coloured pencils and fruity washi tape, of course).
Fruiteatox sent me two different products to try: Refreshing lemon Daytox tea to give a boost in the morning and soothing orange Sleeptox tea for a relaxed night’s sleep. I had to remember not to get these two mixed up.
The Daytox tea contains ginseng, ginger root, yerba mate, liquorice root, tie kuan yin oolong, lemon grass, fennel seeds and lemon peel. The Sleeptox tea contains chamomile, senna, valerian root, hawthorn leaves, lavender, orange peel and orange oil. All natural stuff.
On first impressions it looked like a good quality tea. It smelled pleasant and fruity and the netted bag looked posh (like an expensive TeaPig).
So I’ve been drinking this tea for over a week now and honestly I have noticed a few changes. My skin looks clearer, my stomach feels flatter and my energy levels are good. I was a little wary that Sleeptox contains senna (a mild laxative) but so far, there have been no unexpected events to report, if ya know what I mean. The sleepy tea makes me feel calm and chilled in the evening and promotes a peaceful nights sleep.
Would I recommend? It tastes nice and it’s natural so yeah. It is designed to be used as part of a healthy balanced lifestyle and not as some quick weight loss fix so don’t go expecting miracles to happen. I have already experienced a few subtle but positive changes so would definitely continue drinking this for a morning energy boost or something in the evening to help me drift of to sleep.
