It’s now a family tradition to visit Brighton every year on my sister’s birthday. We do go to Brighton other times of the year, mainly because it is such an awesome place (See: Brighton at Christmas) and visiting just once a year would not be enough. But as it’s our annual birthday trip for Vicky’s 29th, I thought I would share with you some snapshots of our visit on this sunny but cold March day.
The birthday girl. Happy because she is now the proud owner of two alpaca sewing buddies.
I did keep seeing those stickers everywhere.
Brighton – the most colourful town on the South coast.
Let’s fill every town with artists.
We had booked a table in Food For Friends – Brighton’s award-winning vegetarian restaurant in the historic South Lanes. We are very loyal to this place, having eaten here on our last visit too. We always come back as the food is amazing and the restaurant has such a chilled out and friendly vibe.
Mum & Dad – happily divorced since 2001.
For starters we shared the chickpea quartet – a trio of tahini dips and panisse (V/GF). Yum!
We all had the same main course: the FFF V-burger – Sussex Charmer cheese, tomato, gherkins, spring onion, mustard relish, gochujang mayo, brioche bun, triple cooked pomme neuf chips, citrus hemp slaw. Amazing as always. (And I’ve only just worked out what the FFF stands for, hah).
I casually told the waiter it was Vicky’s birthday and he casually brought out this sweet treat after our meal. Nice touch!
After lunch, we headed down to the seafront for a little walk.
Each shop has so many cool and quirky items.
Even though it was sunny, it was still glove-weather in March.
You gotta have an ice cream by the sea when you visit Brighton.
Brighton is not short on seagulls. They are always ready for a photo opportunity.
I love how Brighton is jam packed full of art and colour.
Hope you enjoyed the snapshots from the day. Brighton is always a great place to visit as it has a good mix of shopping and seaside. Have you visited Brighton? What’s your favourite thing to do here? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
