Hobbycraft Colour-In Canvas

One of my favourite ways to unwind and switch off is to grab some felt-tips, put on a Spotify playlist and spend ages just making things bright and colorful. It makes me feel relaxed. The other week, I was browsing Hobbycraft (the shop of dreams) and came across this ‘Be Happy’ Colour-In Canvas for £4.50 and thought yes, I need to buy you, you affordable piece of creative happiness, you are coming home with me.

For this, I used my Pastel Tombow TwinTone 12 Dual Tip Markers (also available in Hobbycraft).

The cool thing about these pens, other than the fact that they are amazing pastel colours, is that they are dual tip. It has a bullet tip and fineliner tip all in one pen, ideal for many different projects such as hand lettering, bullet journalling, sketching or just writing a very pretty shopping list.

As well as pastel, you can also get your creative hands on a pack of Twin Tone Bright Dual Tips too.

With a cuppa and my Spotify playlist (I was in the mood for Pop Punk Powerhouses) I got colouring…

I used a mix of thinner tips for the more intricate details and thicker tips for the bigger spaces and background. Initially, I expected the pens to be more pastel but the more I coloured, the more I was liking the bright bold colourful vibes, perfect for a cheerful ‘Be Happy’ picture.

There are a range of different canvases available, also in mini size for a quicker art project. Other favourites include ‘Today Is Going To Be Awesome’, Waves, and Bird House. The lovely Kay from Kay At Home shared the very pretty ‘Love’ canvas in her post: Valentines Gift Ideas – Handmade With Love.

This canvas took me an afternoon to complete, once I was in the colouring-in zone I just wanted to finish it – although it would also be a great project to spread over a couple of evenings.

It was a very enjoyable few hours just listening to music and colouring everything in pretty colours. Sometimes the simply things in life can bring so much calmness.

Ta-da! And here is the finished canvas, I decided to leave the text white to make it stand out more (and my arm was aching by this point, ha ha). I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest creative project!
